ABOUT LAVELLE FARMS.

Nestled in the hills of Southeastern Ohio near Athens, the farm is situated on 230 acres of rolling pasture. The farm has been the site of a number of photo shoots including the catalog for Rod's Western Palace, Horse TV, and Peter Campbell's new Cow Working Video. We have facilities for all types of equine activity. The new 120' x 200' Rafter L Bar heated indoor arena is now complete and in operation. We breed, buy, sell and exchange all types of horses but our emphasis is on the ranch type Quarter Horse and the Tennessee Walking Horse. We use the horses and stock dogs to handle longhorn and angus cattle too. Walking Horses have long been noted for their calm easy disposition, smooth gaits and quiet nature. Our emphasis is on the flat shod horse that is suitable for development as a versatile all around using horse on the farm, the trail or the show ring in TWHB&EA Versatility Classes. Chemicals, artificial devices and quick fix training solutions are not part of the program we employ. If you are familiar with the philosophies of Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt, Peter Campbell, and Buck Brannaman you have an idea of the approach we try to take. Check back often as we do exchange the horses from time to time.
